Invisalign First – Designed for our youngest patients to improve their smiles as they grow

Invisalign First is a treatment designed specifically for little smiles because many younger patients can benefit from treatment that starts between the ages of six and 10. This early treatment allows Dr. Woods to guide the growth of your child’s jaw, regulate the width of their arches, and ensure an ideal place for the permanent teeth to erupt.

What can Invisalign First aligners do for your child?

  • Treat a range of issues in growing children, from the mild to the complex
  • Make oral hygiene as easy as possible
  • Ensure orthodontic treatment is as comfortable as possible
  • Correct bad habits, such as thumbsucking or tongue thrusting

How does my child begin Invisalign First treatment?

Just as with regular Invisalign treatment, your child will begin their orthodontic journey with a complimentary consultation. At this appointment, we’ll take a scan of the mouth so that we can build a 3D image of what your child’s mouth looks like. This is used by Dr. Woods to design a treatment plan that is fully customized to your child’s unique needs.

The Invisalign First aligners are designed specifically for your child’s mouth and can work to gradually expand the jaws of growing children. By expanding the arch, Dr. Woods can correct current issues and create an ideal environment for permanent teeth, while also preventing more serious issues from appearing later.

How much does Invisalign First cost?

At Salem Smiles, we charge the same whether your child opts for Invisalign or braces. That’s right – for the same treatment case, we charge the same price for braces and Invisalign. So Invisalign treatment is as affordable as possible. And with dental insurance, your out-of-pocket costs can be greatly reduced.

Is Invisalign First right for my child?

Invisalign First is an excellent treatment option for most orthodontic patients. But it does require a high level of compliance. To be effective, the aligners have to be worn a minimum of 22 hours a day. If you are worried that your child may not be able to comply with this, it may be best to consider braces. But we often find that our youngest patients surprise us and happily wear the aligners just as Dr. Woods tells them to.

Will my child need to take special care of their teeth during Invisalign First treatment?

Invisalign First is removable, so your child will take the aligners out when brushing and flossing. That means oral care is a snap – they simply brush and floss as always, without any brackets or wires getting in the way.

Are there foods my child can’t eat while in Invisalign treatment?

No! Your child will remove the aligners every time they eat, so they can still enjoy all of their favorite foods.
